Fortinet Inc. introduced Tuesday its FortiReporter Security Analyzer, a software-based security reporting and analysis product. It is aimed at helping IT organizations comply with government regulations including the Sarbanes-Oxley and Gramm-Leach-Bliley Acts.
The FortiReporter Security Analyzer will be included in the next version of Fortinet's FortiLog system. The analyzer is browser-based and can collect and analyze data from a wide range of heterogeneous networking and security products. The analyzer can process as many as 900 million events a day, the company said.
"The extensive FortiReporter library includes more than 400 different reporting options," Fortinet said in a statement. "Reports can be delivered in multiple languages and formats including HTML, MS Word, and MS Excel."
Fortinet noted that the analyzer can generate reports that can be e-mailed as well as reports that contain overviews of virus and worm activity.
