Savvysoft on Wednesday introduced software that reduces the time it takes to recalculate Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.
TurboExcel, which is powered by patent-pending technology, can run Excel spreadsheets 300 times faster than normal, the New York-based derivatives-analytics company said.
In addition, the new product reduces by 500 times the migration of spreadsheet models to other platforms, such as Unix and Linux, and encapsulates an entire model into a single function, which protects proprietary algorithms from unauthorized users, company officials said.
TurboExcel boosts Excel performance and migration by converting spreadsheet formulae into C++ programming code, and then compiling it into binary code, which speeds up the execution of Excel calculations. The software handles the conversion, so spreadsheet users do not need to be programmers.
TurboExcel is currently available for trial at no charge.
