Microsoft on Wednesday announced pricing for its upcoming Project 2003 line-up of project management software for both the desktop and server as it set an August 18 date for the products to release to manufacturing, the final step before the new software ends up on new machines and is put into boxes for retail sale.
Microsoft Office Project Standard 2003, the stand-alone retail edition of the new software, will sell for $599, the same price as the current Project Standard 2002.
Project Professional 2003 will cost $999, and the new Project Server 2003 package will run $1,499.
The Redmond, Wash.-based developer will release all three programs to manufacturing next Monday, said Microsoft. At that time, computer makers can begin loading the software onto systems for shipping, and Microsoft will start boxing up copies for sale.
