Most U.S. and Latin American Internet users in a survey said hackers who steal personal information are the biggest threat to building trust online. Cheskin Research, Redwood Shores, Calif., said Monday that websites have the potential of boosting trust by stressing their use of effective security. Most users, except those between the age of 19 to 25, are wary of providing more personal information to sites in exchange for a better price. Credit card symbols were the most trusted seal of approval in Latin America; TRUSTe was the U.S. favorite.
