McAfee Software, a division of Network Associates, has formed an Internet venture fund called Vulcan. The fund's first investments are in DirectWeb, an online subscription service, and NeoPlanet, a spin-off of the New York company Bigfoot. NeoPlanet makes a customized, simplified browser interface based on Internet Explorer.
