SPRING HILL, Kan., June 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Insight School of Kansas (Insight), a statewide online public school serving students in 7th through 12th grade and adult learners who wish to complete their high school diploma, honored 102 graduates during its 2012 graduation ceremony on Saturday, June 9.
The ceremony took place at Spring Hill High School. Sarah Berger, Insight's head of school and a former English teacher with more than 10 years of academic experience, delivered this year's keynote address.
"We have so many motivated graduates who've made a lot of sacrifices to reach this milestone," said Sarah Berger. "Graduation is a major accomplishment and it represents more than just a rite of passage, it represents future possibilities and it also pays tribute to the love and support of family, teachers and friends."
During the ceremony, graduates were asked to deliver a yellow rose to the person who inspired them the most to succeed. Many graduates presented roses to their parents and teachers as a token of their appreciation.
The ceremony also featured 26 adult student graduates, including Valedictorian Kimberly Hunter, 35, who delivered this year's commencement speech. Hunter talked about her battle with illiteracy and how her educational experience at Insight gave her a new desire to learn and a healthier level of confidence in herself.
