NEW YORK, June 1, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Large Animal Games, independent developer of unique social and mobile games, has partnered with competitive eating champion Takeru Kobayashi on a promotional effort for their Nomsters mobile game: a competitive eating challenge, to be held when Nomsters players worldwide collect a set amount of in-game virtual fruit. The game, currently the focus of a Kickstarter campaign to be concluded on June 6, 2012, will be released next month on iOS and Android devices.
Nomsters is a fast-paced arcade puzzle game that combines elements of pinball and pool with innovative new gameplay mechanics. Players help a team of Nomsters save their supply of fresh fruit from an invading alien army, by guiding them through levels full of bumpers, gates, evil Fruit Flies, and other obstacles. In addition to a core single-player campaign, Nomsters also features a multiplayer challenge system for one-on-one showdowns with Facebook friends, as well as a robust in-game marketplace that allows players to purchase a variety of power-ups.
A Kickstarter campaign has been launched for Nomsters, set to be concluded on June 6, 2012; the proceeds will support additional levels, retina-display support, and enhanced character animations, among other features. In addition to this campaign, Large Animal and Takeru Kobayashi are collaborating on an event that will draw players to Nomsters even after the game's launch. Once the global Nomsters-playing audience collects a total of 100 million virtual fruit items within the game, Large Animal will host an eating challenge in New York City, featuring the world-famous competitive eater himself.
