COSTA MESA, Calif., March 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- SEMICOA Corporation, a leading supplier of discrete semiconductors for high-reliability military, aerospace and commercial applications today announced its first power MOSFET products targeting industrial and commercial applications. The launch of the commercial MOSFET business and roll out for the first MOSFET products marks a new period of growth for the company long-renowned for providing leading-edge, high reliability semiconductors.
SEMICOA's new MOSFETs feature a lower QG compared to competitors, resulting in low current drive requirements and hence a better overall switching performance. A superior avalanche energy rating guarantees rugged device behavior under the most demanding conditions. These benefits make the initial MOSFET product families a perfect fit for industrial applications, including Audio, DC-DC & AC-DC power supplies, energy conversion, motor control, and whenever higher device reliability is a requirement. With high voltage and high current devices on the product roadmap, SEMICOA is presently positioning a family of offerings with voltages ranging from 30 to 600 volts with up to 70 amps of continuous drain current.
"The launch of our commercial MOSFET program follows almost two years of business and product development, where we set in place a strategy and infrastructure to expand our high reliability, RHA leadership in the Mil/Aero space and develop a winning roadmap that helps us grow a successful long-term commercial MOSFET business," said Ramesh Ramchandani, President, SEMICOA Corporation.
Key MOSFET Product Line Features:
- Best in class Avalanche Energy Rating
- Low Gate Resistance for Fast Recovery Time
- Low RDS(on)
- Low Gate Charge
- Low switching losses
- Lower Thermal Resistance
Added Ramchandani, "Targeted N-Channel and P-Channel products are being production released immediately. To illustrate a commitment to a variety of applications, representative devices built with SEMICOA's proprietary gate architecture from both N-Channel and P-Channel topologies are immediately available for sampling."
In addition to standard industry plastic-packaged surface mount and thru-hole offerings, bare die will also be made available to service the growing base of both power module and hybrid suppliers.
