PROVIDENCE, R.I., Nov. 29, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Cox Business has announced that it has completed installation of more than 1,400 phone lines and a second data network for the Care New England health system. Cox Business has been providing video and data services to Care New England for more than a decade. The installation of Cox Business Voice Manager phone service makes Cox the exclusive telecommunications provider for all of Care New England's Rhode Island locations, including Women & Infants Hospital, Kent Hospital, Butler Hospital, the VNA of Care New England, and several dozen medical office buildings. Cox Business was chosen for its local customer relationship management and willingness to customize services to Care New England's specific needs.
With Cox Business' Voice Manager(SM), Care New England staff can now use five-digit dialing to contact their own business partners across the state. The data network, Cox Business Metro Ethernet, was added as a secure back-up to Care New England's existing Cox Business data services. The network is uniquely designed with redundant fiber ring architecture to provide additional failover capability in the event of disaster.
Cox Business' secure, high capacity, cost effective network meets Care New England's technology needs. The flexible network was engineered to ensure future growth while understanding the importance of reliability to the doctors, staff and patients.
"Cox Business' reliable network infrastructure and local resources fulfill Care New England's complex communications needs," said Mark Scott, vice president, Cox Business. "We are delighted they have expanded their relationship with Cox, allowing them to leverage our total value proposition and ensuring that we provide excellent services, at competitive rates, and with local customer support."
