IRVINE, Calif., Sept. 27, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Saturday, September 24, 2011, SME LIVE awarded their $25,000 grand prize for the snowboarding segment of the VIDEO UPLOAD CONTEST 2011. With hundreds of entries over the course of the year, the SME LIVE video contest yielded a bevy of new names supplying content that has been in heavy rotation on smelive.com. SME VP of Marketing, Matt Patterson, weighed in and said, "This has been an amazing event for us. Hot Dawgz and Hand Rails is a legacy in southern California snowboarding. We are producing the live webcast for the event, so it was a perfectly natural fit for us to use this opportunity to award our grand prize here in our backyard."
SME Live snowboard editor Mike Ranquet was on hand with SME Live editor-in-chief Tom Morin to hand out the over-sized check. Bear Mtn local and Arbor team rider Ian Sams won the $25,000 and was in the event Saturday. "I can't believe it," said Sams. "I want to thank Matt Devino, who filmed my part, and Arbor and along with everyone who has supported me," continued Sams.
The second of three installments in SME's VIDEO UPLOAD CONTEST concluded Saturday at Bear Mtn. The third and final chapter in this series will be the skateboarding award, which will be handed out in October in a location to be announced.
