WASHINGTON, Jan. 14, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- International CTIA WIRELESS® 2011 today announced the call for entries for the annual Emerging Technology (E-Tech) Awards. The E-Techs honor the most innovative new products in 14 categories in the areas of mobile apps, consumer electronics, enterprise and infrastructure. Winners will be announced at International CTIA WIRELESS, taking place March 22-24, 2011 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando. Partner events begin on March 21.
The CTIA E-Tech Awards submission deadline is Monday, January 31. Visit www.ctiashow.com/awards to enter and view program guidelines. Finalists will be announced in early March, and winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on March 23 from the Exhibit Innovations Stage at International CTIA WIRELESS 2011.
This year's 14 CTIA E-Tech Awards entry categories include:
MOBILE APPLICATIONS -- apps marketed and sold to consumers in the areas of:
1. Health, Wellness & Fitness
2. Mobile Commerce
3. Productivity & Utility
4. Social Networking/Content/Entertainment
MOBILE CONSUMER ELECTRONICS -- wireless-enabled devices, including:
6. Fashion & Lifestyle Products
8. Tablets/Netbooks/Embedded Wireless Devices
ENTERPRISE & VERTICAL MARKET -- any products, services, software, applications, hardware or infrastructure used to enable or deploy wireless technology in the enterprise, including:
9. General Business
10. Healthcare & Wellness
11. Mobile Marketing or Advertising
12. Green Telecom & Smart Energy Solutions, Applications and Hardware
INFRASTRUCTURE -- products, equipment and services used in the deployment of a wireless network, such as:
13. In-Building Wireless/Wi-Fi/LAN
14. Wide Area Network
Entries will be judged by a panel of media and industry analysts and scored on innovation, functionality, technological importance, implementation and the overall "wow" factor. Many award submissions will be showcased in the Emerging Technology Zone on the tradeshow floor.
CTIA will offer companies two additional opportunities to win an award. Beginning March 2, website visitors may vote for the "Best Online Pick" at www.ctiashow.com/awards. International CTIA WIRELESS show attendees will also have the chance to vote onsite via text message for entries in the E-Tech Awards display to win "Best in Show."
Eligibility Guidelines: All entries must have a release date of October 2010 or later. New releases, prototypes and upgrades demonstrating significant changes or added features are welcome. A $350 non-refundable submission fee applies to the first product, and a $250 submission fee applies to each additional product. Neither CTIA membership nor exhibitor status is required for entry.
