CHICAGO, Nov. 3, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- UBM Studios Unicruit today announced that thousands of Big East college students and alumni will participate at the Big East Virtual Career Fair (www.bigeastcareerfair.com) which is being produced in conjunction with the Big East Career Consortium. The Big East Virtual Career Fair is scheduled to take place November 10, 2010 at 10:00 AM Eastern and is FREE of charge for college students and alumni. The event will be available on demand until November 19th.
The 16 Big East schools that will participate in the Big East Virtual Career Fair include Cincinnati, Connecticut, DePaul, Georgetown, Louisville, Marquette, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, Providence, Rutgers, St. John's, Seton Hall, South Florida, Syracuse, Villanova and West Virginia.
"We are thrilled to participate in the Big East virtual career fair, and look forward to meeting with the thousands of students and alumni who will be attending the event. ACS-Xerox is always looking for ways to communicate with potential employees, and the Unicruit platform allows us the opportunity to meet as if in person with students and alumni from 16 colleges and universities in one day, and without having to send recruiters out to the actual campuses," said Kathy Stanislawski, Manager, Collective Talent Strategy, ACS, A Xerox Company.
"Given today's economic climate, and organizations' desire to reduce business travel costs, we wanted to provide a vehicle that would allow our students, alumni, and employers an opportunity to interact as if in person, but from the comfort and convenience of their home or office. The Big East Virtual Career Fair will complement the on campus recruiting efforts of each school, and provide employers an opportunity to engage our students," says Jacquline Chaffin, president of the Big East Career Consortium and director of The Career Center at Seton Hall.
More than 40 industry leading employers and government agencies will participate at the Big East Virtual Career Fair. They include:
"Unicruit brings the career fair to the world today's youth live and interact in. They text, Facebook, tweet and rely on an immediacy of information available at their fingertips. It makes sense that employers looking to attract the best and the brightest would adopt an online strategy to meet and interact with students where they live each day, online," noted Kevin O'Brien, vice president of business development for UBM Studios. "We are very pleased to be helping college students and alumni find employment in a challenging economy. The success of our events reinforces the critical importance of our virtual career fairs."
