SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Insider Pages™ (www.insiderpages.com), a subsidiary of CityGrid Media, an operating business of IAC (Nasdaq: IACI), and Susan G. Komen for the Cure® San Francisco Bay Area Affiliate (www.komensf.org) today announced a fundraising partnership during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. For the month of October, Bay Area residents can log on to Insider Pages and post reviews of local doctors, and for each review posted on the site, Insider Pages will donate $1 to the Susan G. Komen San Francisco affiliate. The partnership is aimed at raising needed funds for breast cancer research, as well as building a free, community resource for Bay Area residents to find great doctors for all health conditions, including breast cancer.
"Thousands of women in the Bay Area have been affected by breast cancer and had to assemble a team of healthcare providers to help them battle and recover from the disease," said Eric Peacock, General Manager, Insider Pages. "We wanted to give them and the entire community a way to raise money for Susan G. Komen for the Cure simply by writing reviews of their favorite healthcare providers. Breast cancer survivors can review the oncologists, surgeons, therapists, nutritionists and other providers who helped them beat breast cancer. Anyone in the Bay Area can contribute by reviewing their doctors, dentists or health care providers too. Every review will raise needed dollars to help find a cure for this terrible disease."
For women who have battled breast cancer, this fundraiser offers the opportunity to thank and recognize the team of doctors and other providers who have been with them on their journey, as well as create an online resource for other local women and families impacted by the disease now and in the future. All Bay Area residents are encouraged to join the fundraiser. You do not have to be a breast cancer patient or survivor to participate and all health care providers reviews count including family doctors, ob-gyns, pediatricians, orthopedic surgeons, dermatologists or even orthodontists.
"Our partnership with Insider Pages is helping to create a wonderful resource for the breast cancer community in San Francisco," said Maria Sousa, Executive Director of the San Francisco Bay Area Affiliate. "Not only will the fundraiser help us with a monetary contribution to fund local programs and breast cancer research but it will ensure that those fighting this disease have another place to turn to for information. This is a simple, yet effective way for everyone and anyone to join the fight against breast cancer and do so without writing a check."
To help support your family members and fellow residents who have been affected by breast cancer, log on to www.insiderpages.com/komensfbayarea during the month of October, join the fundraiser and begin reviewing your healthcare professionals. For each review written, Insider Pages will donate $1 to the San Francisco Bay Area Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
