DULUTH, Ga., June 5 /PRNewswire/ -- DataPath, Inc., a leading provider of satellite and wireless communications networks around the world, has launched the DataPath V-SNAP Fly-Away multi-band SATCOM terminal as part of its continued focus on developing systems that leverage the U.S. military's newly deployed Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS) system. The DataPath V-SNAP Fly-Away can be used as a cost-effective, WGS-compatible replacement for existing U.S. military AN/-60 terminals.
The WGS system supports U.S. military operations worldwide by supplementing commercial Ku band capability with X and Ka band capability. The DataPath V-SNAP Fly-Away provides warfighters the flexibility to use WGS and other military and commercial SATCOM networks to rapidly establish high-bandwidth, everything-over-IP (EoIP) communications capability virtually anywhere.
This expeditionary terminal is the latest innovation to the proven line of DataPath fly-away SATCOM terminals deployed by the U.S. military to provide fast-moving, forward-operating forces with robust communications capabilities. Currently, DataPath fly-away terminals are used by U.S. military forces around the world, including: the U.S. Marine Corps for the global Support Wide Area Network program; the U.S. Army Stryker Brigade and U.S. military Provisional Reconstruction Teams in Afghanistan; and the U.S. Army National Guard for its domestic nationwide Joint Incident Site Communications Capability (JISCC) program.
