MILPITAS, Calif., Jan. 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- JDSU announced today that Technology Marketing Corporation's (TMC(R)) INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine ( http://www.itmag.com ) has named JDSU as a recipient of its 2007 Product of the Year Award. INTERNET TELEPHONY has been the VoIP Authority Since 1998(TM).
The JDSU PVA-1000 is a widely deployed and proven solution that performs full analysis of VoIP telephone calls with jitter, packet loss and audio playback test capabilities for enterprise, call center and carriers delivering service in VoIP, IMS and fixed-mobile converged environments. It is compatible with a variety of network service and infrastructure types, including softphones, wireless IMS networks, wireline networks, VPN and enterprise.
Among its strongest features, the PVA-1000's new Capture Agent enables it to monitor multiple calls and generate individual packet capture files for each call that falls below a mean opinion score (MOS) threshold. The resulting capture file can be automatically transferred to a pre-defined server. These capture agents can be placed on Ethernet Switch SPAN ports, PCs with softphones (PC-based software that converts PC into a telephone) or desktop PCs connected to IP phones, making them ideal for network turn-up, acceptance and troubleshooting applications.
In addition, the PVA-1000 can perform signaling trace, audio playback and full decodes of signaling and media packets, improving the ability for operators to quickly and proactively troubleshoot common errors in VoIP performance such as delay and echo.
"The ability to capture poor quality calls has been an ongoing challenge for VoIP engineers -- the PVA-1000 is designed to automate this function on multiple segments while providing full post-capture analysis in a wide variety of network environments," said Gary Meyer, product line manager for JDSU. "We are honored that INTERNET TELEPHONY has given the JDSU PVA-1000 recognition for its ability to go above and beyond supporting customers faced with difficult VoIP test challenges."
"JDSU has proven they are committed to quality and excellence while addressing real needs in the marketplace. INTERNET TELEPHONY is pleased to grant a 2007 Product of the Year Award to their PVA-1000," said Rich Tehrani, TMC President and Editor-in-Chief of INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine. We're proud to honor their hard work and accomplishments and look forward to more innovative solutions from JDSU in the future."
A full list of Product of the Year winners will be published in the February, 2008 issue of INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine. ( http://www.itmag.com )
