Spanx Selects GSI Commerce's Integrated Platform As Attractive Fit for E-Commerce Business

KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa., Jan. 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- GSI Commerce Inc. announced it has signed a multiyear agreement to provide privately held Spanx(R), a women's hosiery and shapewear company, with a full- service, integrated e-commerce solution to help the company expand its online business for its growing product lines. The GSI platform will replace a combination of vendor systems and will include integrated Web technology, fulfillment and customer care. The new Web store is expected to launch in the spring of 2008.

Spanx, a brand created by entrepreneur Sara Blakely, offers an innovative line of hosiery, shapewear, and intimate apparel that is sold in high-end retail stores, boutiques, and specialty stores across the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. Spanx products have received numerous awards and media mentions and are popular among Hollywood celebrities and stylists. The company's growing product line of more than 100 styles promotes comfort and confidence for women with innovative shapewear and apparel that slims, shapes, and smoothes the figure.
