Cisco Systems has taken the wraps off intrusion-detection and firewall software that the networking vendor says will bolster security and slash false alarms generated by its intrusion-detection applications. The company also enhanced its PIX firewall software to support Open Shortest Path routing protocols, virtual LANs, and eight voice-over-IP protocols.
