J.D. Edwards Picks Up Clients And Sees Profits

J.D. Edwards & Co. CEO Bob Dutkowsky says the $6.5 million net income for the quarter ended Jan. 31 is the most profitable first quarter in the company's 25-year history. This time last year, the company lost $4.1 million.

The maker of supply-chain management and customer-relationship management software saw revenue rise 6% to $205.9 million, boosted by new license sales to such companies as Australian Postal, Electrolux, Express Services, Inland Paperboard and Packaging, Ralcorp Holdings, and Vivendi Universal. License-fee revenue totaled $47 million and services revenue $159 million.
