Just about the last place a wireless provider would want its service disrupted is at the world's largest wireless trade show. But that's what happened to Sprint PCS last week at the Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association's convention in Orlando, Fla. "Sprint service was pretty lousy in and around the convention center," says a company spokesman.

It turns out that two exhibitors had demos that, inadvertently, were transmitting in the 1,900-MHz band set aside for Sprint. Both stopped as soon as Sprint told them, the spokesman says, so it's keeping their identities quiet.
