Computer Sciences Corp. on Thursday said it has been awarded a five-year, $74 million contract from the Maryland Department of Transportation.
Under the agreement, CSC company will provide network-management services, including planning and engineering, implementation of an asset management system and support for the transportation department's computer systems. CSC also will help the agency establish a network operations center.
The contract is CSC's second with the agency. It signed a five-year, $75 million deal in 1997 to support the department's network and IT systems.
"Our experience in meeting the needs of the department's more than 15,000 local employees--and our reputation for producing outstanding results throughout our relationship with the MDOT--were instrumental in our selection," Jim McCoy, president of CSC's networks and telecommunication integrated solutions group, said in a statement.
