CA on Tuesday said it has enhanced the integration between Wily Introscope, software for managing application performance, and the Unicenter Network and Systems Management framework.
The closer integration is part of Introscope version 7.1, the latest upgrade of the product used to monitor and optimize the performance of Web applications behind portals or within service-oriented architectures. Combined with Unicenter NSM, the two products enable an IT team to correlate transaction and infrastructure performance in a single operations dashboard, officials with the Islandia, N.Y., company said.
New capabilities in Introscope include a navigation feature that enables IT staff to scroll through detailed, time-coded replays of user transactions and to conduct root-cause problem analysis. Reporting and chart features have been added to generate easy-to-read summary and comparison reports for analysis and distribution to IT and business managers.
Version 7.1 also introduces HTTP tunneling and proxy support that makes it possible for systems integrators to automatically instrument Web applications with Introscope, CA said. These features are expected to enable integrators to monitor, triage and diagnose clients' remotely hosted Web applications
Introscope also can be integrated with third-party management frameworks such as IBM Tivoli and Hewlett-Packard's OpenView.
CA acquired Interscope this year through the $375 million purchase of Wily Technology Inc. Version 7.1 of the product is currently available. Pricing was not disclosed.
