IAC/InterActiveCorp on Tuesday launched in beta a comparison-shopping site that boasts 45 million products from 50,000 merchants.
Pronto.com offers a simple homepage that mimics Google's ad-less design.
The shopping search engine displays products from all merchants through patent-pending technology used to scour the Web. Products matching a search query are presented with pictures and text links. The results also include clearly marked sponsored links.
"No other comparison shopping engine searches as many merchants and products as Pronto.com," Dan Marriott, chief executive of Pronto.com, said in a press release. "Simply put, more products means lower prices."
The site also offers a browser tool for searching specific retail sites and receiving alerts similar to an instant message when lower prices and alternative products are available.
Pront.com is the latest e-commerce property for IAC, founded by Hollywood mogul Barry Diller. Other IAC sites include Ask.com, Citysearch, LendingTree and Ticketmaster.
