Canon Virginia, Inc., a custom contract manufacturer of office products components and injection mold tools and service provider for product repair, packaging, and distribution, is successfully using Kewill Flagship enterprise shipping management software to automate the company's return business shipments.

As a contract manufacturer for leading global companies, Canon Virginia prides itself in being a domestic manufacturer with a global reach that distributes products on time, every time. A central piece of the company's delivery service includes product returns. If a replacement product is available in inventory, it will be shipped within an hour of a customer request.

Prior to adopting Kewill Flagship, Canon Virginia used a proprietary carrier system to generate labels for two shipments: one for the new product going out, and another for the customer to use when returning the initial product. A shipping manager was then required to take the shipment confirmation information and re-enter the data into the company's Oracle ERP system.

Kewill Flagship provides a single electronic source for accessing preferred carriers domestically and internationally and automating shipment processing. Kewill also integrates with Oracle ERP systems to streamline the entire order-to-delivery process and further reduce manual effort required.

"Using Kewill Flagship has meant a 40 percent reduction in the work required to complete return shipments," said Brian Butterworth, MIS Manager for Canon Virginia. "We look forward to expanding our use of Kewill and the efficiency benefits we gain with the Flagship solution with a new fulfillment business planned later this summer."

"Delivering end-to-end shipping solutions that significantly improve our customers' processes and shipping metrics is the driving force of our business," said Michael P. Dolan, COO of Kewill. "Our Kewill Flagship technology is uniquely capable of supporting the most complex customer driven requirements. We're pleased to have Canon Virginia join our rapidly increasing number of enterprise-level customers successfully using Kewill Flagship."
