(NASD:EGOV) will replace OPNET Technologies Inc. (NASD:OPNT) in the S&P SmallCap 600 after the close of trading on Tuesday, December 18. S&P MidCap 400 constituent Riverbed Technologies (NASD:RVBD) is acquiring OPNET in a deal expected to be completed on or about that date pending final approvals. NIC builds official web sites, online services, and secure payment processing solutions for government agencies. Headquartered in Olathe, KS, the company will be added to the S&P SmallCap 600 GICS (Global Industry Classification Standard) Internet Software & Services Sub-Industry index.
