nPario's Chief Data Scientist on Big Data Mining Panel in Beijing

Dr. Teredesai to Discuss In-Platform Data Science at International Big Data Mining Workshop
PALO ALTO, Calif., Aug. 10, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- nPario, a leading provider of Big Data solutions for publishers and marketers, announced today that the company's Chief Data Scientist, Dr. Ankur Teredesai, will participate on a key panel entitled "How Can Big Data Bring out Deep Knowledge?", at the 1st International Workshop on Big Data Mining. Dr. Teredesai and his co-panelists will be presenting insights for mining challenges for Big Data in Beijing on August 12th from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the China National Convention Center, 212A+B as part of the annual SIGKDD conference, which is the premier venue for world's leading data scientists in both industry and academia.
The panel is chaired by Dr. Wei Fan of the IBM T.J. Watson Research Center. Teredesai represents nPario and the Institute of Technology at the University of Washington Tacoma where he is an associate professor of computer science and systems. Co-panelists include Bharat Rao, Senior Director of R&D at Siemens Healthcare, Data Analytics & Business Intelligence; Vivekanand Gopalkrishnan, Director of Research at Deloitte Analytics Institute in Asia; Charles Parker, Senior Machine Learning Engineer at BigML, Inc.; and Anjan Goswami, Engineer at eBay Search Applied Research and UC Davis. All of the panelists are world renowned Big Data experts and are expected to brainstorm on the next generation of challenges for data science and Big Data.
Through his roles as Chief Data Scientist at nPario and as an Associate Professor at the Institute of Technology, University of Washington Tacoma, Dr. Teredesai has been an active participant in advancing the science of data mining. At nPario, he advises the in-platform data science development initiatives designed to deliver critical audience insights to advertisers and publishers, using nPario's multi-patented columnar database technologies.
