Farnborough video highlights Washington state as global aerospace leader Jul 12, 2012 (06:07 PM EDT) Washington state aerospace video featured at Farnborough International AirshowSEATTLE, July 12, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --The Fearey Group, a leading independent public relations firm in Washington state, has partnered with the Washington State Department of Commerce and the Washington Aerospace Partnership to create a video (click here to watch) focused on Washington's aerospace industry. The video is being featured this week in the Washington state exhibit at the Farnborough International Airshow, the aerospace industry's most prominent event in 2012. The air show started on July 9 and runs until July 15, attracting more than 120,000 visitors from around the globe. "We are passionate about Washington state's aerospace industry and we believe our local companies have unlimited potential to offer the world in terms of skill, innovation and thought leadership," said Aaron Blank, president of The Fearey Group. "This video shows the world that Washington state and its skilled workforce is on the forefront of aerospace research, development and manufacturing." The video showcases Washington state as a global aerospace leader with 700 aerospace companies employing 92,000 skilled aerospace workers and 6,550 engineers. Annually 1,200 aircraft and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) are produced in Washington. The video shows the unveiling of Boeing's 787 Dreamliner, the engineering of new, state-of-the-art aircraft and describes Washington state as the global hub for world class aerospace research and development. The Farnborough International Airshow is a seven-day trade fair for the aerospace industry held every two years in Hampshire, England. The event demonstrates civilian and military aircraft to potential customers, investors and the public. During the weeklong event $47 billion in business is done with 1,455 exhibitors from 40 countries and 120,000 trade visitors. Dating back to 1916, the Society of British Aircraft Constructors held the show in Hendon, England. However after a break for WWII, the air show was relocated twice and settled at the Farnborough Airport in 1948.
