KANSAS CITY, Mo., July 6, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- How is mobile technology impacting the economy and the banking industry? Two CEOs offering revolutionary electronic payment platforms will examine this topic alongside a senior official from the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City at a technology forum on Monday, July 9.
Ben Milne, CEO and founder of Dwolla, a cash-based online payment network, Chris Teso, CEO and founder of Chirpify, a Twitter commerce platform, and Barb Pacheco, SVP of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, will discuss trends surrounding the expanding mobile payment industry and how mobile payments will be processed and regulated in the future.
"The mobile payment industry will ultimately affect every business and consumer, and we're pleased to bring together national experts on this topic," said Ryan Weber, president of KCnext, the regional technology council hosting the forum. "Kansas City is the ideal place to hold this forum because of the assets that exist here. We are home to telecom giants like Sprint, as well as regional banks like Alterra Bank, which has invested heavily in a mobile platform so its customers can bank everywhere."
The event is being held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. CST on July 9 at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts downtown Kansas City, Mo. To register, visit www.kcnext.com. The forum will be live streamed at www.siliconprairienews.com. Journalist Ben Paynter will moderate the discussion.
