Subsystem Technologies Wins $49.5 Million Contract To Support ARDEC

ARLINGTON, Va., March 27, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Subsystem Technologies Inc. (SUBSYSTEMs) of Arlington, Virginia, has won a $49.5 million contract to provide engineering and technical services support to the Department of the Army's Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center (ARDEC) at Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey.
Under this indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract, SUBSYSTEMs will provide complex engineering services, technical assistance, and incidental supplies in support of ARDEC's mission, which is critical to our nation's security and defense. As one of the specialized research, development and engineering centers within the U.S. Army Materiel Command, ARDEC is an internationally-acknowledged hub for the advancement of armaments technology and engineering innovation. ARDEC's workforce provides lifecycle support for nearly 90 percent of the U.S. Army's weapons and munitions.
Specifically, SUBSYSTEMs will provide complex design, structural analysis, material engineering, and test engineering services in support of emerging technologies aimed at improving front-line weapons and munitions for the US Warfighter.
Sam Malhotra, SUBSYSTEMs' Chief Executive Officer, expressed excitement about this new opportunity. SUBSYSTEMs has supported ARDEC since 1991, and work on this contract will run through February 28, 2017, if all options are exercised.
