ANCHORAGE, Alaska, Sept. 20, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Proof that a small, remote business can have a big impact on a global level, GoodTherapy.org, an Anchorage-based website dedicated to helping people find good therapists, was recently featured in the Google Economic Impact Report for the second year in a row. The site now receives more than 1.5 million therapist searches and reaches an estimated seven million people each month looking for therapy, due in large part to both its organic search rankings and to Google AdWords campaign.
Founded in 2007, Rubinstein knew he wanted to reach a larger audience, so he turned to Google's AdWords online advertising program. In recognition of GoodTherapy.org's remarkable success with the program, Google highlights the growing business in its "Google in Alaska" section.
"We understand the tremendous difference between good therapy and bad therapy and wanted to spread our knowledge, connections and message about healthy living on a much broader scale," said Rubinstein. "As a small business that's more than doubled in size and revenue in just the past year, we understand and appreciate the impact Google can have, and we are delighted to be featured in their economic report. Even more, we are thrilled to reach so many individuals and therapists across the world."
In addition, GoodTherapy.org provides a live chat feature, information on healthy therapy and marriage counseling, and connections to therapists by location, resources and continuing education for therapists, blogs on a variety of topics and more. The company now employs 21 people.
