Conference is offering an interactive hybrid meeting option for the first time
MADISON, Wis., Aug. 12, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Sonic Foundry, Inc. (NASDAQ: SOFO), the recognized market leader for rich media webcasting and knowledge management, announced that the Elite Meetings Alliance has selected Mediasite by Sonic Foundry to webcast their education sessions. The conference is taking place August 14 – 16 at the Westin Boston Waterfront in Boston, Mass.
The Elite Meetings Alliance brings together corporate and association planners with leaders in the luxury hotel industry to cultivate relationships and conduct business. For the first time the conference is offering a hybrid meeting option, with select education sessions webcast via Mediasite. Speakers will be answering questions from the remote audience, as well as conducting interactive polls. Midori Connolly, Chief AVGirl and CEO of Pulse Staging and Events, developed the AV strategy for the event.
"We are very pleased to be working with Sonic Foundry and Pulse Staging to deliver a truly cutting-edge online experience to our web audience. Adding the interactive webcast capabilities to the Elite Meetings Alliance adds significant value by allowing those unable to attend due to conflicts to still be able to participate in a meaningful way. We have additional ideas as to how we can leverage this technology to further enhance the experience and value of both online and in person attendees of the Elite Meetings Alliance," said Kelly Foy, CEO of Elite Meetings International, Inc.
The first webcast will be the welcome reception on Sunday, August 14 at 6:30 p.m. Eastern with presentations by Kelly Foy, David Connor, General Manager of The Westin Boston Waterfront, and a keynote session entitled 2011 "Meeting Industry Trends" with David Kliman, President of The Kliman Group. The second webcast is Monday, August 15 at 8:30 am Eastern, with "The Power of Influence" with Daren Martin.
