Aug 11, 2011 (05:08 PM EDT)

In the next 18 months, e-commerce solutions company, Savtira Corp. opens 265 positions

TAMPA, Fla., Aug. 11, 2011 /PRNewswire/ --The unemployment rate is gradually descending, yet tediously consistent at around 11 percent in Tampa, Fla. However, a shining light in the form of blinking computer servers sheds a positive outlook in Ybor City's Savtira Corporation, a new provider of business-to-business e-commerce solutions. Savtira is slated to open the door of opportunity to at least 265 prospective employees in the following 18 months.

Savtira leaders ultimately selected Tampa as its headquarters after considering several other prominent technology cities such as Atlanta and Austin. Savtira's Software-as-a-Service Cloud Commerce solution covers both digital and physical goods, using e-commerce to sell everything from downloadable entertainment programs to consumer electronics. All Savtira e-stores are branded and custom-tailored for Savtira clients so that no two e-stores are alike.

"Savtira is experiencing explosive growth, making it necessary for us to headquarter in a location with enough space for our employees and equipment," said Timothy Roberts, CEO of Savtira. "We considered several high-tech cities and decided that as the gateway for Florida's High-Tech Corridor, Tampa offered an excellent business climate for an entrepreneurial, digital B2B e-commerce company like ours. Tampa has it all: great weather, affordable cost of living, well-educated workforce, and a broad array of cultural and community amenities.  We look forward to building upon our presence in Tampa."

Tampa job seekers have a virtual welcome sign as Savtira makes its way in the market. "Increasing the presence of headquarter operations is key to Florida's economic development agenda; therefore, Savtira's selection of Tampa is a victory for our state," said Gray Swoope, president and CEO of Enterprise Florida, Inc. "It shows that Florida has the right climate for business growth and expansion, and we welcome Savtira wholeheartedly."

The company offers a friendly and collaborative work environment with many additional benefits, including competitive salaries, performance compensation and potential relocation assistance. Savtira chose the Ybor City district for its convergence of eclectic restaurants and innovative businesses, creating a Greenwich Village in Florida.

According to Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn, this was a critical win for Tampa.  "Savtira's decision validates Tampa's status as a good place for business. These are great jobs – the average wage will exceed 200 percent, or $81,448 of the Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater MSA's average wage.  I like the company's comparison of Ybor City to Greenwich Village, and couldn't be more pleased with Savtira's decision to establish their headquarters here," said Buckhorn.

Hillsborough County Commission Chairman, Al Higginbotham, noted that collaboration was the key to closing successfully on this project and said, "The state, county, city and EDC crafted a package that went beyond offering financial incentives. We will take great care to ensure that Savtira's needs are met and will continue working with the EDC, city, state and other partners to accommodate Savtira's growth here."

Tampa Hillsborough EDC Chair, CEO and Chair of the Board at Fowler White Boggs, Rhea Law, agreed and added, "The EDC engaged several other local resources to help the company with its expansion plans; chief among them are our universities, utilities, Tampa Bay Workforce Alliance and others."

"We are always looking for industry experts, amazing talent and driven people who can deliver our vision," said Mike Hansen, COO of Savtira. "If you want to be involved with a cutting edge technology group with no boundaries, build new technology from the ground up, and be rewarded equally to what you put in with an equally driven executive team, then contact us at"
