OLYMPIA, Wash., July 1, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- GoodTherapy.org announced today the sponsorship of the Good Therapy Foundation in a new Therapy Award Contest starting July 1, 2011 that will provide six months of free psychotherapy to one lucky winner. Founded in 2007 by Noah Rubinstein, GoodTherapy.org is the leading online therapist directory for advocating healthy and collaborative psychotherapy. The organization is dedicated to educating the consumer on ethical and safe psychotherapy practices and provides an extensive international community of psychotherapists who have been rigorously screened for proper licensure and to ensure that they adhere to GoodTherapy.org's mission of non-pathological therapeutic practices.

Good Therapy Foundation's Therapy Award Contest will give every qualified applicant a chance to win six months of free therapy, a prize valued at up to $2,400. To enter, each applicant will be asked to share their reasons for seeking therapy by explaining any challenges which may have prevented them from obtaining therapy in the past, which issues they would like to address, and what their desired outcome would be.

The contest will begin on July 1, 2011 at 12:00 pm PDT and will run through July 31, 2011 at 5:00 pm PDT. All entries must be submitted through the GoodTherapy.org Blog. Finalists will be announced on August 10, 2011, and finalist's entries will be posted online and voted on by readers for two weeks. GoodTherapy.org receives over 1.5 million searches per month and encourages applicants to be candid with their entries. The winner will be chosen based on the number of votes received and will be announced Friday, August 26, 2011 on GoodTherapy.org Blog. Rubinstein hopes that this contest will allow someone who may otherwise be unable to afford treatment the opportunity to embark on the difficult, but amazing, journey that psychotherapy offers. GoodTherapy.org believes that everyone possesses the ability to transform their lives in a positive and beneficial way and can realize that goal when they engage in a therapeutic relationship with an experienced and collaborative-based psychotherapist.
