Stamford, CT Recruiting Manager Wins iPad2 for Best Social Recruiting Story
BROOKFIELD, Wis., June 30, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Pinstripe, Inc., a leading human resources and recruitment process outsourcing (RPO) specialist and the second largest pure play RPO firm in the country, announced today that the winner of their Social Media Day contest is a recruiting manager named Lauren Haymond from Stamford, CT.
Asked to describe their best social recruiting success story, individuals submitted tweets and emails illustrating how they have leveraged their social networking skills to fill positions.
The winner described the challenge of being the sole recruiter for a boutique technology consulting firm that did not use outside search firms and had no access to job boards. Haymond focused on LinkedIn after determining that a large community of IT professionals use LinkedIn to manage their career information and market themselves. Using LinkedIn, Haymond was able to establish a solid network, build a community of IT professionals, make more than 30 hires, and increase the overall caliber of talent in the organization, without incurring search fees. "Through the use of LinkedIn, I was able to identify and network with candidates that would have never heard of my company. I used all of the basic search tools, joined groups, and consistently added contacts. Working the network I built through LinkedIn, I was able to make better placements faster," Haymond explained.
"It's a pleasure to congratulate Lauren for submitting the best social media story and winning our contest," commented Sue Marks, CEO, Pinstripe. "As Lauren's story illustrates, it's all about figuring out how to meet your candidates where they are. Effectively, finding, and networking with people is what makes great recruiters successful, and social media provides the ideal forum for taking this practice to the next level."
"I believe that the use of social media for recruiting and branding a company is a key to success and is the future of recruiting. I hope that my story leads other corporate recruiters to utilize all the capabilities of LinkedIn and maximize the opportunity of social media recruiting," Haymond added.
