TPI research: 39% of clients implementing cloud solutions, up from 24% in 2010
STAMFORD, Conn., June 28, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Information Services Group, Inc.(ISG) (NASDAQ:III), a leading technology insights, market intelligence and advisory services company, announced today that nearly 250 leading clients and service providers gathered last week in Chicago to discuss innovation and transformation taking place in the IT, Business Process and Sourcing industry at the firm's annual Americas conference.
During the events, clients and service providers participated in in-depth discussions about the impact of social networking, business intelligence and analytics, cloud computing and mobility on sourcing strategies and the sourcing industry. The events also covered critical issues such as China's potential to become a global delivery destination, the evolving role of business and IT benchmarking in business improvement, and the need for effective governance of sourcing agreements.
Advisors from TPI, Compass and STA Consulting led the presentations, panels and workshops, which were all focused on the conference theme, "New Era, New Opportunities."
TPI Momentum research conducted during the events found that 39% of clients surveyed are now implementing cloud computing solutions, up from just 24% a year ago. Higher percentages of clients said they were migrating Email and Messaging (67%) and Human Resources functions (52%) to the cloud than in 2010. However, clients' overall goals of increasing scalability, flexibility and speed while lowering cost have not changed, nor have their concerns, including inadequate or unclear data security and business continuity and disaster recovery risk.
"We were very excited to welcome clients and service providers to our annual Americas conference last week and hear their perspectives on the tremendous change taking place in business, IT and sourcing," said Michael P. Connors, Chairman & CEO, ISG. "As our cloud computing research shows, these events are excellent opportunities to better understand emerging technologies, share insights on the state of the market and learn about the latest strategies for optimizing business operations in a variety of industries."
ISG will hold client and service provider conferences in Europe and Asia Pacific later in the year. For more information, please visit http://www.tpi.net/newsevents/events/.
