New wedding planning tool offers a new twist to the typical online wedding planning checklist

ATLANTA, June 9, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Your wedding to-do's are now even easier to organize and plan, thanks in part to the new innovative tool launched by GetMarried.com. The Virtual Wedding Planner was created by GetMarried.com following feedback from brides frustrated by the glut of wedding checklists currently available online.

"We felt the need to offer up something new after speaking with brides around the country," explains Summer Krecke, digital content director for Get Married Media. "We repeatedly heard that the timelines were too long or too narrow, the lists were overwhelming and many didn't take into consideration the growing movement for personalization in the wedding industry."

In contrast, GetMarried.com's Virtual Wedding Planner tool offers three track listings for brides based on their wedding date, allows brides to organize their tasks by date or by planning category and addresses the different and unique needs for each bridal event (i.e. traditional church wedding vs. casual backyard gathering). Additionally, brides have the option to create reminders, monitor their planning progress online and add notes to tasks as they work through their weekly or monthly checklists.

"This new tool is just one example of our 'your wedding, your way' overall wedding planning philosophy," notes Anita Brady, president and publisher of Get Married Media, Inc. "We understand that brides want content and tools that speak to them as individuals -- not a long list of impossible dictates."
