Google's Former Head of Marketing Scott Epstein Joins Tout as Chief Marketing Officer

SAN FRANCISCO, June 8, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Tout, a new social video platform that enables iPhone and iPad users to easily capture 15-second real-time video status updates and instantly share them via Twitter and Facebook, today announced that Scott Epstein has joined the rapidly-growing company as Chief Marketing Officer. Epstein brings a wealth of Internet marketing experience, including key marketing positions at Plaxo and Google, where he served as the company's head of marketing.

Before Tout, Epstein was recognized for spearheading the marketing effort (which included one of the first Internet brands to execute a national advertising campaign) to launch Excite, an early search engine, which propelled the tiny startup as a key competitor to Yahoo! Epstein later went on to co-found, which defined online programmed radio and was sold to AOL for $320 million, before defining Google's and Plaxo's marketing strategies. Prior to his work in the online world, Epstein held positions in brand marketing at Miller Brewing Company and Burson-Marsteller.

Tout, which launched only seven weeks ago, recently received national attention for having served as the vehicle elected by Shaquille O'Neal to announce his retirement from the NBA. In less than one week, the company has built a large audience of over 2MM users. Tout's mobile app is currently available for free download for iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 or iPad2. It will be available for Android in July.
