VirnetX Adds Avaya to Lawsuit

SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif., April 12, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- VirnetX Holding Corporation (NYSE Amex: VHC), an Internet security software and technology company, today announced that, on April 12, 2011, it filed an amended complaint that adds Avaya as a defendant in a patent infringement lawsuit currently pending in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, Tyler Division.  The complaint includes allegations of patent infringement regarding three patents owned by VirnetX, U.S. Patent Nos. 6,502,135 and 7,418,504 and 7,921,211.  In its complaint, VirnetX seeks both damages and injunctive relief.

Accused Avaya products named in the lawsuit include:  Avaya's 4600 and 9600 series IP Phones, Avaya's A175 Desktop Video Device with Avaya Flare Experience, Avaya's SIP Enablement Services and Avaya's Aura Session Manager.

In addition to Avaya, the other defendants in the lawsuit include Mitel Networks Corporation, Mitel Networks, Inc., Siemens Enterprise Communications GmbH & Co. KG, and Siemens Enterprise Communications, Inc.
