Dec 02, 2010 (12:12 PM EST)
SEATTLE, Dec. 2, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- It was only halfway through Cyber Monday and BabyLegs® reported that sales nearly doubled those of last year's Thanksgiving weekend!
Revenue to www.babylegs.com increased 170% in 2010 from the 2009 holiday weekend. This news comes on the heels of a great year for BabyLegs®, which received over 1 million page views during the month of November alone. Additionally, traffic from referring sites increased by 572%, led by Facebook. The BabyLegs® Facebook page now has over 21,000 fans, up 600% from the beginning of 2010. During the holiday weekend, 60% of the traffic to www.babylegs.com came from referral sites.
Isaac Ash, CEO of parent company United Legwear noted, "We are thrilled with the amazing internet consumer response Babylegs® has received thus far this holiday season. We continue to work diligently to bring great integrity, quality and value to our rapidly growing customer base with the brand. It is encouraging to see that our nation's economy continues to show strong recovery signs based on holiday retail performance thus far this season."
The BabyLegs® website also garnered a large amount of traffic and new customers from its Affiliate Program. The BabyLegs® Affiliate Program is currently driving over 20% of online sales at www.babylegs.com.
Additionally, BabyLegs® teamed up with seven other retailers for a huge Cyber Monday Sale; www.BabyLegs.com, www.BabyFrenzy.com, www.ChicoBag.com, www.EarthMamaAngelBaby.com, www.GoGagaLife.com, www.MobyWrap.com, www.HappyHeinyStore.com, and www.KateQuinnOrganics.com all offered 25% off every order.
BabyLegs® leg warmers quickly became a parenting essential around the world because of their utility, practicality, and stylish appeal. The brand's continued desire to design fashionable products to protect little legs and feet led to the expansion of the brand into children's hosiery. In 2009, BabyLegs® introduced baby socks and girls tights. This came on the heels of the acquisition of the brand by the United Legwear Company, a global manufacturer of legwear and underwear.
