Teradata Value Analyzer Incorporates MicroStrategy Reporting and Analysis Capabilities for Detailed Profitability Insights

MCLEAN, Va., Oct. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- MicroStrategy Incorporated (Nasdaq: MSTR), a leading worldwide provider of business intelligence (BI) software, and Teradata Corporation (NYSE: TDC), the world's largest company solely focused on data warehousing and enterprise analytics, today announced that they have collaborated to provide a next-generation profitability analytics solution for the telecommunications industry.

With this new solution, network operators can gain a comprehensive view of their organization's profitability through analysis of detailed data related to customer behavior, product usage, and sales channels. This offering brings together MicroStrategy's advanced reporting and analysis capabilities with Teradata Value Analyzer, a solution with a 15-year history of providing a behavioral-based approach to profitability measurement.  With MicroStrategy's intuitive reports and at-a-glance dashboards, users can make better and faster decisions by visualizing and interacting with information in an easy-to-use, graphical format.

Teradata Value Analyzer addresses the converging demands of two distinct facets of an organization: the enterprise-wide view of company profitability required by the finance department, and the business intelligence required by operational managers. By incorporating MicroStrategy's BI capabilities into the solution, network operators can analyze behavioral data down to a granular level of detail for analytically-based profitability insights across the business.

"Service providers offer an incredible array of devices to an increasingly sophisticated consumer who is adopting services and devouring bandwidth. These changes have made traditional profitability models obsolete," said David Grant, vice president of industry marketing & solutions, Teradata Corporation. "Today's service provider needs sophisticated and timely profitability models to identify causes of margin erosion, create winning price plans, and align service levels with customer profitability. Anything less puts the viability of the carrier at risk."

"With the explosion of data in today's telecommunications industry, this new profitability solution provides a valuable tool to help our customers improve their bottom line," said Sanju Bansal, MicroStrategy COO. "MicroStrategy and Teradata have a long history of working together to optimize the performance and capabilities of our joint business intelligence solutions."
