Application unveiled and released to US iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad users
Hangouts made easy
SANTA CLARA, Calif., Sept. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Foound today released its application for Apple iOS devices which include iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad to users in the United States. Created by Danny Tan and Aen Tan, the idea of Foound emerged in late 2009 when the duo were frustrated by the trouble one must go through to get a group of friends together for something as simple as having coffee. The creation that emerged is a smartphone application that streamlines event invitations by making it possible to send one invitation that contains what, where, when and who to all parties involved and keep up-to-date with responses. Besides directing product development to realize his vision, Danny, Founder and CEO of the company, has been busy getting funding for the company and putting together a team.
The company recently announced its seed round of US$500,000 from Neoteny Labs, whose General Partner Joichi Ito is the CEO of Creative Com- mons and an early investor of Twitter; East Ventures, whose Managing Partner Batara Eto was the Co-Founder and Ex-CTO of Mixi Inc, Japan's largest social network; Singapore's National Research Foundation and Varsha Rao, Founder of Eve.com and currently CEO of SingTel Digital Media. The Foound team has been busy working on realizing the idea since the first half of 2010 and today the management team got on stage at DEMO Fall 2010 and showcased the result of their hard work in front of an audience of 2,000, made up of trade and mainstream media, venture and angel investors, entrepreneurs, and corporate executives. The Foound team hopes that through its application, they can bring the world closer, one hangout at a time.
