BestParking.com Compares Parking Rates and Locations in Bing Maps
Jun 07, 2010 (12:06 PM EDT)

NEW YORK, June 7 /PRNewswire/ -- The BestParking.com parking finder application allows users to access nearby parking facilities on Bing Maps. BestParking.com is a free parking search engine that steers drivers toward the cheapest and most convenient parking facilities in 16 cities and 66 airports. Addresses, phone numbers, photos, rates, and other attributes are provided for all facilities, and some of the nation's largest parking operators also offer exclusive discounts and reservations.

Motorists can save hundreds of dollars each month with the parking finder map app. Ken Halajian, a New Yorker, says he is "stunned at the differences in prices from block to block," and now uses the map app before driving into the city. For example, in Midtown Manhattan, motorists can spend anywhere between $12 and $87 for a full day of parking, while a week's stay at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) can range from $53 to $210.

The parking finder map app is made available via a strategic relationship between Bing Maps and BestParking.com, the nation's largest parking search engine. According to Ben Sann, Founder & CEO of BestParking.com, "the distribution of BestParking data as a map app will enable motorists to both find the best parking deals and view related destination information, such as directions, traffic information, and gas prices, without leaving the Bing Maps environment."

"We're excited to collaborate with BestParking.com to bring parking data into Bing Maps," said Chris Pendleton, technical evangelist for Bing Maps at Microsoft Corp. "The parking finder mapping application adds to a broader set of tools that helps our customers make faster, more informed decisions in areas like travel."

BestParking.com's data is available for licensing to businesses and government agencies. Parking operators who wish to correct and/or add their facility information can do so free of charge.
