Invincea™ Selected to Present at MAVA Capital Connection '10
May 18, 2010 (01:05 PM EDT)
FAIRFAX, Va., May 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Invincea, a next-generation security software company, was among 40 early- and expansion-stage technology companies competitively selected to present at the Mid-Atlantic Venture Association (MAVA) Capital Connection '10, May 19-20 at the Hilton Baltimore Hotel, Baltimore, MD. Invincea's maiden product, Invincea™ Browser Protection, shields PC users against all types of Web-borne threats by seamlessly moving desktop Web browsers into a controlled virtual environment.
"This is the premier event for emerging technology companies in our region," says Anup Ghosh, Invincea Founder and CEO, "and we are proud to have the opportunity to present and meet with the leading investors, partners, and senior technology decision makers who will attend Capital Connection '10."
"It was a challenging but rewarding experience to select this year's early- and expansion-stage companies because we had such a strong pool of applicants," said Sever Totia, Edison Venture Fund, one of four selection committee co-chairs. "The range of technology solutions and products developed by these companies will be of great interest to a wide spectrum of investors and potential partners."
Invincea Browser Protection is the first fully virtualized product on the market that automatically detects and terminates Web threats in real time, disposes of the tainted environment, and restarts a pristine one while protecting users against zero-day exploits and other advanced cyber-security threats. Unlike other solutions, Invincea does not rely on signatures or definitions of malicious software (malware) for detection, nor does it rely on users to make correct security decisions – two fundamental flaws of current security products. Instead, it automatically identifies malware attacks based on behaviors and actions inside Invincea's Browser Protection environment. Invincea Browser Protection deploys in enterprise environments as a desktop Windows application that seamlessly runs the user's browser in a fully virtualized environment, so users don't have to learn anything new to browse freely and safely.
