Colo5 Announces SAS70 Type II Compliance
May 07, 2010 (12:05 PM EDT)
JACKSONVILLE, Fla., May 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Colo5, LLC, a leading independent data operator headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida, today announced the successful completion of its Statement on Auditing Standards (SAS) 70 Type II audit. The audit was conducted by Harrell & Widener LLC, a full service accounting firm providing SAS70 Type I and Type II audits that evaluated the Company's internal operational controls and processes.
"This advanced certification is consistent with our philosophy of bringing the most reliable and advanced readiness to our customers," said Colo5 CEO, Doug Recker.
The SAS70 audits are rigorous inspections of the controls and safeguards a company has put in place to manage its customer's data. Type II Audits are a step above Type I. Type II SAS70 audits provide independent third party verification by a licensed CPA firm as to whether these controls and safeguards put in place by the company are operating effectively over a designated period of time, typically six months.
"The increasing complexity of our clientele requires an especially reliable and responsive platform that our customers can trust," said Recker. "We are pleased to meet these exacting requirements and provide the added confidence our customers expect from us."
Completion of the Type II SAS70 audit vastly expands the prospective client base of the Colo5 data center to organizations requiring a higher standard of performance, such as publicly traded entities, financial institutions, and insurance companies.
