A-Check America Releases RAPID I-9, Streamlining Electronic Form I-9 and E-Verify
Apr 30, 2010 (08:04 PM EDT)

RIVERSIDE, Calif., April 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Global employment screening company A-Check America today announced the release of RAPID I-9, a web-based Electronic Form I-9 and E-Verify module built into the company's award-winning employment screening application, A-Check Direct™. A-Check representatives said RAPID I-9 dramatically reduces the inconveniences of traditional paper-based employment eligibility verification, eliminates errors associated with confirming an employee's work eligibility status, and keeps employers compliant with federal employment regulations.

"With RAPID I-9, employers manage the entire work eligibility process online, eliminating the need for paper-based records," said A-Check Vice President of Operations Kathi Parlapiano. "A-Check clients can run their applicant's background check, then proceed with the Electronic I-9 and E-Verify, all in one place."

How does it work? Once an employer completes the background check on A-Check's online portal, A-Check Direct, the option to process the I-9 Form appears. With a single click, the system pre-populates the I-9 Form and an invitation is e-mailed to the applicant. The applicant clicks the link provided in the invitation e-mail, completes the form and e-signs the document. The employer is notified the applicant has completed their part, reviews the document online and attests to reviewing acceptable right to work documents. The employer may upload and attach copies of supporting documentation.

A-Check's electronic Form I-9 features compliant E-Signature capability and secure supporting document upload. A-Check's e-signature process complies with all  Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act (ESIGN) requirements.

Once the Electronic I-9 is completed, the employer may request an E-Verify query with a single click. Data previously captured is used to submit a request to the E-Verify system, providing immediate confirmation of the applicant's eligibility to work. A-Check's system tracks the status of requests and notifies the employer of status changes or activity with the request.

"Clients may run Electronic I-9 in conjunction with E-Verify or run either service independently," said A-Check President Carlos Lacambra. "We built the system with maximum flexibility and efficiency in mind."
