Company Closes Series-B Funding, Garners Patents and Industry Awards, Renews Strategic Partnerships

SUNNYVALE, Calif., April 13 /PRNewswire/ -- 4Home, the leader in connected home software, today announced the completion of its Series-B financing during the 1st quarter. The $6.8M round catalyzed a productive start to its sixth year in the connected home services market.

"4Home's revenue grew by 300% in the past year and we more than doubled our workforce in the same period. As a result of this growth we'll be relocating our offices to a larger Sunnyvale complex in May," said Leon Hounshell, President and CEO of 4Home. "We couldn't be more excited about the momentum 4Home is building and are expecting strong growth in 2010."

The company is known primarily for its work in pioneering connected home services, which include energy management, home control and monitoring, media management, and home health. With service providers, retailers, and utilities increasing their investments in the space, 4Home's agnostic and distributed ControlPoint platform design has become the industry standard for rolling out such value-added applications.

4Home began the year demonstrating connected home services with Verizon Wireless, the nation's largest telecom provider, and Ingersoll Rand, parent to both the Schlage and Trane brands, at CES. 4Home recently announced strategic partnerships with Sensus Metering Systems, the nation's largest AMI (advanced metering infrastructure) vendor, Marvell Semiconductor, and Sigma Designs, among others.

In the year to date, 4Home has garnered numerous industry accolades, including two CES Innovations Awards and The Telecom Council's Prodigy Award for most successful alumnus. In addition, 4Home has been one of the most active participants in establishing industry standards, working within The Broadband Forum, CableLabs, and other leading organizations including NIST (National Institute for Standards and Technology) to determine the most efficient architectures to realize this market for consumers.

The company also made significant progress in protecting its leadership position by adding two patents (7,577,915 and 7,680,745) in March to its growing intellectual property portfolio.
