SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- IGN today revealed a new version of its flagship site IGN.com, updated with a bold new layout and enhanced global navigation to extend its appeal and accessibility to attract the rapidly growing mainstream gaming audience.
With its premium content and expert editorial voice - combined with a sleek new look, updated functionality and killer video features - the "new" IGN enters 2010 at the top of its game, as the premier online destination for videogames content and the #1 site for guys 18-34.
"Fans have been coming to IGN for more than a decade to get top gaming information. These site updates will vastly improve the user experience for loyal repeat users and new users alike," said Peer Schneider, Publisher and SVP of Content for IGN.com. The site's redesign represents the latest move by IGN to broaden its appeal among the growing mainstream gaming audience.
Highlights of the new site include:
Eager to tap into IGN's highly-concentrated audience of guys 18-34, FOX's major motion picture AVATAR has signed on as the exclusive sponsor for IGN's redesign. IGN's content will also be extended offline: F.Y.E. retailers launched a major Holiday promotion with IGN, bringing IGN's top Holiday game recommendations to more than 700 stores nationwide and IGN's popular Holiday Buyer's Guide feature is set to make its television debut later this week.
These relationships represent the latest moves by IGN to extend its reach beyond the traditional core gamer to a more mainstream audience, offering premium content and relevant coverage for men.
