Hampton Roads Consumers to be Among First in Nation to Receive Wireless Services from Cox Communications

CHESAPEAKE, Va., Dec. 8 /PRNewswire/ --Cox Communications Inc. announced today that it will soon introduce wireless phone and mobile high speed Internet service in the Hampton Roads region. Today's announcement continues the company's long history of introducing competitive telecommunications services to the marketplace.
Since 1999, Cox has provided telephone service in Hampton Roads, saving consumers thousands of dollars over the incumbent telephone provider. Today, Cox is a leading phone company in the Hampton Roads region, and has received numerous national telephone customer satisfaction honors.
Cox is now the first U.S. cable company to launch a fully-integrated wireless phone and mobile high speed service. Cox will also be the only provider in Hampton Roads offering consumers a fully integrated bundle of video, voice, Internet and wireless services.
To celebrate Cox's landmark entry to the wireless business, Cox is donating a brand new computer technology center, valued at $25,000, to the Southeastern Virginia Boys & Girls Club. The Center will include new computers, access to Cox High-Speed Internet and education about the safe and responsible use of digital technology. The Southeastern Virginia Boys & Girls Club was selected to receive this donation because of its great need for advanced technology and because of its commitment to enriching the lives of young people, a commitment Cox shares.

The service has launched to a test group of Cox customers and the company will expand the service across the Hampton Roads region in 2010. While Cox is initially offering an integrated wireless service to residential customers, it will deliver business class services to Cox Business customers in the future.

Finally, Cox has multiple retail locations within the region and the company is remodeling certain mall and retail store locations as part of this future launch. In addition to making way for the wireless program, the stores are being enhanced to provide a better overall customer experience.
