TIBCO Leads Fast-Growing CEP Space, Says Leading IT Analyst Firm
Sep 22, 2008 (08:09 AM EDT)

PALO ALTO, Calif., Sept. 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- TIBCO Software Inc. continued its market leadership in the fast-growing Complex Event Processing (CEP) space, according to a new report from IDC. TIBCO thus marked another year as the undisputed CEP leader, with a market share of 40.2 percent -- twice the share of its closest competitor-while experiencing 52 percent year-over-year growth, according to the IDC study.[1]

"CEP is the fastest-growing segment of the global event-driven middleware market," according to Maureen Fleming, director of IDC's BPM and middleware research program. "We expect this growth to continue as enterprises build event-driven applications that, in essence, act as real-time navigation systems for business."

This news comes with the launch of TIBCO BusinessEvents(TM) Enterprise Suite, which adds significant new functionality to the company's CEP software. BusinessEvents(TM) Enterprise Suite features a new business user interface for easier, more intuitive rules authoring as well as support for event streams processing. In addition, the solution's industry-first distributed event processing capabilities can monitor a practically unlimited number of events, making it by far the most robust and scalable CEP offering in the market.

"TIBCO has been working with leading private companies and public sector clients to realize the benefits of CEP long before it became such a hot market, said Ram Menon, executive vice president, worldwide marketing at TIBCO. " As the leading provider of event driven infrastructure software, we are proud to be singled out in this report as continuing our lead over the many other firms who have entered the field more recently."

TIBCO BusinessEvents Enterprise Suite is available for purchase immediately. To learn more about TIBCO's CEP, SOA and BPM solutions, visit www.tibco.com .
