Emdeon Business Services Launches Automated Workers' Compensation and Auto Medical Processing
Aug 05, 2008 (08:08 AM EDT)
NASHVILLE, Tenn., Aug. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Emdeon Business Services, a leading provider of revenue cycle management and clinical communication solutions, announced today the launch of a new electronic solution for the filing of Workers' Compensation and Auto Medical bills and simultaneous electronic submission of required documentation.
This new transmission solution allows payers and providers to streamline submission and bill processing for jurisdictional ASC X 12N 837 Workers' Compensation and Auto Medical bills. By enabling medical reports and documentation to be submitted electronically along with billing, Emdeon's solution facilitates compliance with various new state eBill mandates and is designed to eliminate a processing barrier that had previously hindered acceptance of eBill traffic from healthcare claim subscribers and delivering clean bills to carriers.
"Workers' Compensation and Auto Medical bills must be accompanied by related medical reports and records," explains Gary Stuart, Executive Vice President of Emdeon Business Services. "By making the filing and attachment processes electronic, we are offering a single gateway solution that significantly benefits providers seeking compensation for medical services rendered, as well as payers that process Workers' Compensation and Auto Medical claims."
With this new solution, Emdeon is providing its customers the ability to reduce the amount of manual bill processing that often depletes staff productivity for both healthcare providers and payers. Additionally, Emdeon's electronic processing solution helps reduce the potential for error and offers built-in components that are designed in compliance with state regulatory requirements, particularly eBill mandates, such as those enacted in Texas, California and Minnesota, as well as HIPAA EDI standards that are becoming increasingly common at the state level. This new capability represents another example of how Emdeon is enhancing the value of its industry leading healthcare information network to deliver new services to the marketplace.
Emdeon selected Jopari Solutions, Inc. as its strategic partner in the creation of these new solutions. Jopari's specialized eBill and remittance processing platform offers Workers' Compensation and Auto Medical solutions for electronic attachment receipt and processing that complement Emdeon's comprehensive suite of payer and provider services and its industry leading network of payers and providers.
"By leveraging Jopari's eBill attachment solutions, Emdeon is now able to offer carrier and medical provider customers a compelling solution for managing the critical front end of the eBill life cycle," said J.R. "Steve" Stevens, Chief Executive Officer of Jopari Solutions. "Our key objective is to assure Jopari's eBill compliance services are easily accessible, convenient to use, cost effective and as universally available as possible to stakeholders."
