AirTran Airways to Discuss Utilizing Cisco IOS NetFlow with Lancope's StealthWatch to Cost-effectively Monitor and Secure MPLS for PCI Compliance at Cisco LIVE 2008
Jun 09, 2008 (09:06 AM EDT)

ATLANTA and ORLANDO, Fla., June 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Cisco LIVE 2008 -- Lancope, Inc., the provider of the StealthWatch(TM) System, the most widely used Network Behavior Analysis (NBA) and response solution, today announced that its customer AirTran Airways will deliver a StealthWatch case study entitled "Using Cisco IOS NetFlow to Cost-effectively Monitor and Secure MPLS for PCI Compliance" at Cisco LIVE 2008. As part of its PCI compliance initiative, AirTran requires greater visibility into network traffic and accountability from a solution that is capable of collecting information from a widely dispersed network. Having identified Cisco IOS NetFlow as a lightweight, scalable, cost-effective method of gathering network data, AirTran selected NetFlow-based StealthWatch to efficiently aggregate high- speed network behavior data from multiple segments of its extensive network, perform network behavior analysis and gain end-to-end network visibility. AirTran currently has a widely distributed MPLS network that supports 55 locations, several campuses, and thousands of online transactions daily.

At AirTran, NetFlow-based StealthWatch is utilized by networking professionals, IT security and system administration -- each with a customized view into the shared network behavior data. Sharing network visibility across the IT unit enables AirTran to more quickly identify and resolve network and security incidents: the network group uses StealthWatch to perform root cause analysis and in conjunction with other tools to monitor WAN activity and performance; IT security uses it to detect unauthorized remote access, worm activity and correlate users with network events; and system administration uses it to research details in order to resolve user issues or complaints.
